THE ACT joins an already stacked line up of must-see shows available to STARZ subscribers in Canada, including the new millennial comedy NOW APOCALPYSE, the highly anticipated spy-thriller THE ROOK, premiering this summer past seasons of popular titles such as POWER, PARTY DOWN, and THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE critical darlings VIDA and SWEETBITTER hundreds of fan-favourite movies and more. From Universal Content Productions (UCP), Nick Antosca is co-creator and executive producer, while Greg Shephard and Britton Rizzio also serve as executive producers. Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s Box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder.
THE ACT follows Gypsy Blanchard (King) as she tries to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother Dee Dee (Arquette). Season 1 of THE ACT stars Golden Globe ® award winner Patricia Arquette, Joey King, Chloë Sevigny, and AnnaSophia Robb, and is based on the 2016 BuzzFeed article “Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter To Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom Murdered” by Michelle Dean who also serves as co-creator and executive producer. ET with subsequent episodes airing weekly, Sundays at 9 p.m.
